As we wrap up the celebration of our 25th anniversary, we reflect on where we started. GAAH was founded in 1999 after community members came together to address the fact that there was no library in the neighborhood. This institutional disparity sparked the need for GAAH to exist in the first place.

Unfortunately, these systemic issues continue to show up today, confirming that our work here at GAAH has become even more essential.

To continue this work and honor this 25-year milestone, we have a goal of raising $25,000 as we tackle these systemic challenges. With such significant work ahead, we look to our guiding principles, which state three critical actions.

  1. We engage with youth. Supporting youth to be themselves and understand the world around them is core to who we are at GAAH.
  2. We call out injustice. Naming systems of oppression and the barriers that our families face so we can find solutions to the root of the problems is central to our work.
  3. We share joy. With the many challenges our youth and families face daily, this might be the most critical of our actions! Sharing joy reminds us of what we are working for.

Will you support these critical actions today with a gift of $25 and help us reach our goal?

Your generosity today will help us set the foundation for another 25 years of engaging with youth, calling out injustice, and sharing joy.

Thank you for standing with us, for these young people, and for the future we are building together.
